JUSTIN FROESE

Groovy, soulful music that reaches for your heart

BIO

California-based award-winning songwriter Justin Froese is known for his catchy songwriting, his collaborative spirit and for a diverse palate of musical tastes. His mainstream sensibilities combined with ten years of classical music study have resulted in the ability not only to cross genres, but also in many cases, defy them. With impressive guitar skills and a smooth heartfelt voice, audiences are always left moving and grooving.

Justin’s relationship with music began at age five when he picked up the guitar to play alongside his father. Watching his dad perform original songs, songwriting felt like a natural form of expression, and by age six, Justin had started writing his own—completing roughly 20 songs by the time he was ten. As his musical studies deepened, so did his songwriting, shaping a lifelong journey of crafting songs for himself, his bands, and collaborators. Friends and fans would request his songs at performances, and as his work evolved, he gained recognition through prestigious international songwriting awards, including San Diego Songwriters Guild, two-time SongDoor International Grand Prize winner, and Indie International.

Beyond his own artistry, Justin has played a pivotal role in helping other musicians find their sound and launch their careers. His production of a full-length album for The Smart Brothers attracted the attention of Tom Petty’s manager, leading to a career mentorship under Ron Blair and the eventual emergence of LA Edwards. He guided Kenyan-American artist Naomi Wachira through her breakout EP, which led to awards and caught the attention of Damien Jurado, who went on to produce her next record. Justin also discovered Trish Jetton at an open mic, producing the EP that helped her form a band and management team, ultimately leading her to front the well-known reggae act Hirie.

In addition to producing and songwriting, Justin mentors dozens of songwriters yearly, helping them up-level their careers by honing their signature sound, refining their song craft, and presenting their best recordings through his 6-Month Songwriter Mastermind Program. Many indie artists have experienced career breakthroughs after working with Justin, gaining industry recognition and developing a professional sound that resonates. Whether through songwriting, production, or mentorship, Justin continues to empower artists to break through creative barriers and reach new heights in their musical journeys.

“Justin Froese’s radio-ready voice soars perfectly over this five-song alt-rock gem. Sometimes bluesy, sometimes driving, sometimes romantic, this five piece showcases a stunning musical vocabulary, as well as a fat pocketful of talent and an apparent shared love for Jeff Buckley.”
